Budget Boosters:
===============
In the recent Budget presented by the Finance Minister - Pranab
Mukherjee, he had stated "Full exemption from basic customs duty was
provided to Set Top Boxes in 2006 to enable their free import for the
smooth introduction of the Conditional Access System (CAS). Now that
production capacity has come up in the country, I propose to impose a
nominal basic customs duty of 5 % on such Set Top Boxes to encourage
domestic value addition."
This incentive is good for the domestic industry and Catvision with
its next generation set-top boxes is exploiting it to the hilt with
its marquee clients like Airtel and Reliance.
Security Systems, Digital head ends, Set top boxes, all have good a
good budget booster.
CAS + DTH:
===========
Catvision Went through a bad patch because of the delay in
implementation of CAS, but from Jan 1, 2007; the CAS roll out began
with 4 metros. With the implementation of CAS in more than 50 cities
before 2010, the fortunes of the company will turn.
In Delhi, there are 8 lakh CAS-notified households but the set top
boxes for cable have been placed only in over 35,000-40,000
households. South Mumbai accounts for another 8-9 lakh CAS homes with
around 50,000 getting cable set top boxes. TRAI is now planning to
expand CAS into other cities. The demand is sure to create a
multiplier effect for players like CATVISION, BEL.
Catvision Products Ltd's efforts during the previous year have borne
fruit as it successfully executed an order for dish antennas from
Airtel, a new entrant in DTH. Airtel recently corssed the 1 million
mark in subscribers. catvision is now targeting other DTH companies
with antennas and other products. The prospects of this division are
linked to those of the DTH business in India, which seem excellent in
the foreseeable future.
SECURITY & Surveillance Systems:
==============================
ZICOM - Here Comes Competition!
The company has forayed into security systems which until now was
dominated by ZICOM; starting with high-end digital CCTV systems
targeted at premium hotels and shopping malls, which is driven by the
heightened security risk perceived by public institutions from
terrorist threats.
Its products division is showing good traction. Post 26/11, its
raining orders for security product companies in India. Catvision
would be one of the players in this segment to penetrate more into
this booming segment.
The company has also joined hands with a UK based firm Dedicated
Micros, worldwide provider for CCTV surveillance applications. This
will address emerging segments -- ATMs, Retail chains, shopping malls,
which also have concerns of security.It is targeting premium hotels
and shopping malls. The company has successfully executed orders with
The Select City Mall, a big and prestigious mall at Saket, New Delhi
and other malls, as well as premium hotels from the oberai and Hyatt
Chains. With the successful execution of these orders, Catvision has
finally made a strong inroad into these segments.

iTV Systems(Interactive On-Demand):
=============================
Catvision has tie-ups with KoolConnect, Dalvi Technology Ltd.(UK),
nSTREAMS Technologies, Inc. USA based KoolConnect Technologies, a
supplier for in-room entertainment solutions, recently picked up a
small stake in Catvision through a preferential allotment.
These tie-ups will enable Catvision to offer services like Video On
Demand entertainment and information systems, high-speed internet
access, virtual concierge services, which has become standard in
premium hotels the world over.
Room Energy Management Systems:
==============================
Hotel Systems & Services: This business continues to do well and grow
well. The company signed several new contracts with leading 5 Star
hotels for supply of both SMATV systems as well as satellite channels.
A new product category added to this division is room energy
management systems, in collaboration with Inncom of USA - a world-
leader in these products. It had procured some contracts from the
Oberoi group and, recently, a big order from ITC.
HITS - A Major Trigger:
=======================
Digital Headend-In-The-Sky (HITS) policy is ready and Broadcasting
Minister - Ms.Ambika Soni - has assured that the policy which would
revolutionize the industry would be be announced before December 2009.
Catvision with its products targeted for this segment would be a major
players with its digital head end systems and entire range of
accessories.
R&D Facilities:
===============
Catvision is having a Research and Development Centre comprising of a
team of highly qualified engineers who are working continuously on
developing new products for your company. Besides the new products the
R&D team is persistently working on the up-gradation of the existing
products by adding new features and improving manufacturing
consistency and improvement of quality. Its in-house R&D Centre has
got the recognition from the Department of Scientific & Industrial
